During training, Noble Dancer suffered an injury on a muddy track. He tore ligaments, displaced his sesamoid bone, and it was forced into the canal of his left leg. The surgery was successful: Noble Dancer recovered and retired. He passed away on June 27, 1994, having survived for 15 years after the surgery.

The horse underwent fetlock arthrodesis surgery and subsequently resided at a stud farm. After six years, the horse was euthanized in 2014 due to chronic pain in the left front foot.
