Hoist The Flag - Thoroughbred
Hoist The Flag sustained a shattered pastern bone and a fractured cannon bone in the right hind leg, which resulted from a misstep during a training session. After undergoing surgery and recovering, the horse served as a stud for eight seasons. Following another fracture in its left foreleg, the horse was put down in May 1980. It lived for nine years after the initial surgery.

Noble Dancer - Thoroughbred
During training, Noble Dancer suffered an injury on a muddy track. He tore ligaments, displaced his sesamoid bone, and it was forced into the canal of his left leg. The surgery was successful: Noble Dancer recovered and retired. He passed away on June 27, 1994, having survived for 15 years after the surgery.

Boitron's right hind leg was severely damaged with ligament torn in a hauling accident. Following the amputation, Boitron lived with a prosthetic leg and stayed at a stud farm. After five years, the horse died in 1987 at the age of 11 due to peritonitis and a stomach abscess.

In January 2000, Seattle Slew was found unable to stand or lift his head due to compression of his cervical spine (commonly known as cervical instability syndrome). He underwent two advanced surgeries in 2000 and 2002. He passed away peacefully in a stable in 2002 at the age of 28.

Molly - Pony
Molly was stranded in the barn for weeks when Hurricane Katrina hit southern Louisiana in August 2005. She was rescued and taken to a farm where abandoned animals were stockpiled. A pit bull terrier on the farm attacked Molly, inflicting severe gnawing wounds on her right front leg.
